Ricardo Martinez Herrera

Ricardo is a Chicago based multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography. During his adolescent years, he began exploring graffiti as a form of self-expression. This led him to discover a wide range of urban landscapes and individuals in the process of self- identification throughout the city. His photography is nuanced by the social narratives of everyday people while incorporating graffiti into his style of imagery. He provides a fresh perspective to those who engage with his work while maintaining a traditional workflow, creating silver gelatin prints from black and white negatives that he develops at home.
